Hey, Penizens,

Well, here we finally are! Ever since I found the pen, many of you have been telling me to ditch the original blog title, and start over fresh with a name that really emphasizes the pen. I admit I was a little reluctant at first, but a strongly worded e-mail from Cassidy L. in New Haven really helped put things in perspective. And so, here it is—a fresh start.

Don’t worry though, I’ll still be writing about all of the same stuff my long-time readers originally loved, and all of the ongoing storylines, restaurant reviews, observational humor etc. from the original blog will continue here.

Still expect to see all of my usual everything. It’s just that now I’ll have the pen with me at all times. And there’ll be lots of posts totally focused on the pen and pen-related activities.

Over the next week or so, I’ll start transcribing the whole origin story in a way that’s easier to follow than the original version, cutting the fluff, and adding some texture that only became clear in hindsight.

I know a lot of you are eager for more, so just to get us rolling, I’ll tell you about my latest pen experiment. It’s currently 8:27 am on Friday morning, and the pen is laying on my desk, about six inches left of my laptop. Last night before going to bed, I placed it down on a piece of paper, and used a different, normal pen to draw a line, marking its exact position on top of the page, as seen here:

And here is how I found it when I woke up this morning:

As you can see, the pen clearly moved without me touching it. I had my Ring camera pointed at it the whole time, but the feed mysteriously cut out starting at 2:33 am all the way until I woke up in the morning. Also, before you send me five thousand angry DM’s, there was no fan in the room, and my cat was in bed with me the whole time.

That’s it for now.
